Service Description: These landscape dynamics areas of analysis (AOAs) polygons are used within the National Park Service (NPS) Inventory & Monitoring Division (IMD) and represent unofficial areas where inventory or monitoring activities can occur. AOA polygons from the landscape dynamics AOAs dataset maintained by IMD (IMD_BND_ESProtocol_[Park/3km/30km]_wgs_py) are at the park level, buffered by 3km, or buffered by 30 kilometers. The polygons are derived from adjusted NPS unit boundaries and include only those units that are part of the Inventory and Monitoring Program. The dataset structure extends the NPS core data standard recommendation and is current as of September 30, 2019. This dataset is un-projected and has a geographic coordinate system spatial reference (SRID/WKID 4326). For geoprocessing and analysis requiring a projected spatial reference, please download and re-project the landscape dynamics AOAs dataset linked above, or download the landscape dynamics AOAs dataset with data grouped and projected by geographic area.
